English Love

Just a cigarette

Moonlight reveals her beauty.
Her dark hair is touching her breast,
Passing by her soft shoulder
And her look is lost in the distance.

She feels tired and empty
As time mercilessly passes us by.
Life is the giver, yet life is also the taker
And she knows we will soon be gone.

Her lungs are burning for a cigarette …
Just like my love for her burns my heart.
Will you still be as beautiful in my eyes
When the smoke will blur your image?

With a short-lived spark she set my world on fire,
In a short-lived moment she lit the cigarette
And now she lifts it toward her mouth
And softly drinks the wicked smoke
Knowingly harming herself and me …
